30 years ago     I began my adventure in dogs with a Belgian Tervuren, named Tubbs.  I finished her championship and also put an obedience CD title on her when I was only 13 years old.  Through this Tervuren breeder I met Olive Lancey of Jamol Pomeranians who gave me my start in Poms.  I finished a few for her and totally fell in love with breed.  My parents had bred their Tervs a few times and then began breeding the poms too.  They never really had many litters over the years but completely supported my “handling” of other dogs/breeds for friends.  I have shown, owned and finished many Tervs, Poms & Corgis, and handled all different breeds as well.  I have also worked for many handlers over the years learning much about the dog showing industry.  

Personally I had never bred a litter in my numerous years of showing until recently.  After taking a few years off from the whole dog business, I decided I wanted to start showing again, but this time I wanted to do it for myself.  I contacted my friends, Joan & Melv Beech of Jolvin Pomeranians, whom I had handled for in the past and asked if they would consider being my mentors.  Fortunately for me, the said yes!  They sold me a bitch and thus I began my breeding program.  I have only had a few litters since then and have found it to be quite rewarding.  My philosophy for breeding goes back to my Tervuren roots. The Tervuren breeders completely believed in line breeding, which is what I still believe, will bring me what I am looking for in my poms, i.e. movement, type, & soundness.  I am not a strong believer in breeding to a dog just because they were #1 or won the National Specialty or a multi BIS winner.

Posh Pomeranians is located in Bruce Township, a small town north of Detroit, Michigan.  We are a team consisting of myself, my husband Chris & our son Stefan, each of us having different roles.  Me, the trainer, groomer, kennel help.  Chris, the manager, web-master, and Stefan, the puppy socializer.  Another key member of the Posh team is my father. The biggest supporter of my love for showing dogs a daughter could ever wish for!
